Edna Orozco was born in Bogota, Colombia. She lives and works in Berlin, Germany. Edna has dedicated more than ten years to the reflection and experimentation between different disciplines. She studied music at the Conservatory of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia; finished Literature Studies at Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá, studied Documentary-making bases at Fundación Lumière, and Cinema Direction with the Cuban director Fernando Pérez. She has also worked on several documentaries, which allowed her to develop her skills in video montage. Her work as a VJ (video jockey), fuels her passion for the live performance. She has created virtual stage scenes for theatre plays and participates in diverse festivals. This led her to help set up VideoPopuli, the itinerary festival of experimental video, with other visual artists and musicians. VideoPopuli have held exhibitions and live performances in Latin America. Her videos have been exhibited at festivals in Colombia, Mexico, Croatia, France, Germany and India, and are part of the compiled DVDs of Visual Berlin and Creative Commons. She is one of the founders of Digital Tattoo, who produce audio-visual projects which have a relationship with the performance arts and architecture and which have been made for live performances. In 2010 she was awarded a scholarship from the Colombian National Funds of Cinematography for the Experimental Animation postgraduate studies at the University Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia.
